A. J. FERNANDEZ

Mayimbe

4.0★★★★★4.0· 5 ratingsFull

From AJ Fernandez’s secret stash. Mayimbe is one of the few blends on the market today that truly goes above and beyond the call of duty. More and more, it seems like the market is flooded with “me too” type cigars. But where other handmades have simply gotten by, Mayimbe succeeds with flying colors. It all starts with a succulent Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper, boasting an oily sheen, and a dee-lish aroma (reminds me of gingerbread cookies). A peek inside reveals a well-balanced blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and top-secret long-fillers layered inside a Nicaraguan binder. But the real superstar here is the end result. A full-flavored cocktail of complex flavors, growing more intense with each billowy puff. Just to rattle off a few (and there are many), expect chewy notes of cocoa, bread, citrus, coffee and nuts. In short, this small-batch handmade is full-bodied, delicious and well worth every damn penny. Without a doubt AJ’s crowning achievement. You can put a stamp on that, son!

My favorite non-cuban cigar. The notes of bread, cocoa and citrus send my mouth on sensory overload and I can't get enough...
