Latitude Zero Experimental Blend achieves something that no cigar maker has been able to do before by employing an Ecuadorian Cameroon wrapper leaf. Previous attempts to grow this temperamental leaf outside of Africa have all failed miserably, but you know what they say about trying and trying again. This exclusive, literally one-of-a-kind wrapper leaf hails from the fertile farms of Oliva Tobacco Company, and since it comes from a small and experimental crop, you’re not likely to see it again anytime soon. If you’re gonna try it, you better do it pronto. Experimental Blend is a home run, and is poised to surpass even the original Latitude Zero core line, which would be no easy task. Graced with that extraordinary Ecuadorian Cameroon wrapper from 2009 that I was discussing earlier, the physical appearance sure is easy on the eyes. Underneath this fine cloak, a rare Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 binder from Oliva’s La Joya farm envelopes a mix of Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 long-fillers. Medium-bodied and brimming with nuances of cedar, sweet-spice, and oak, Latitude Zero Experimental Blend is one prize that you won’t want to let slip through the cracks. It’s quite simply a must-try.
