So far the best of the Smoking Monk series. Nice notes of cocoa and caramel

So far this is the best of the Smoking Monk series. Just a bit better than the Tripel and Imperial Stout. Medium bodied with light notes of spice and BBQ smokiness.

Wood and very weak vanilla notes. This is the second cigar that I've tried from the Smoking Monk series and so far I am disappointed.

Earthy with notes of leather and mild pepper.

Cold draw tasted a lot like a Kentucky Fire Cured cigar. So did the smoke. Paired with an Evil Twin Citra Sunshine Slacker IPA. IPAs aren't my thing and the cigar + beer wasn't outstanding to me. It was just ok. Cigar performed well. good burn and smoke. Almost went out once or twice. I think I get the concept though ... A BBQ and a cold IPA. It's a good thought. Have a couple more and will try again.

Only got to smoke about half. Not as strong as most Drew Estates. Still a good smoke

These have gone from mediocre to pretty good in only a couple months of rest in the wineador.

paired w/ hop suplex ipa. nice at first then bitterness overload from hops & cigar.

I actually paired this with a porter (Widmer Steel Bridge Porter), to completely buy into the gimmick. Quite good with the porter, and really the previous ones I smoked without a porter were not as good. Still, overall, this cigar is pretty drab for Drew Estate. It's an enjoyable smoke, but really no distinct flavors to mention. I do like the idea of manufacturers at least suggesting a pairing option. I normally drink scotch at night and coffee (and root beer) in the morning. Plenty of cigars clash with scotch, or overpower root beer. So, I do like the core gimmick of this cigar, more than the cigar itself. All that said, these are pretty fresh off the truck. I'll let the rest age some and give them 17 more chances.

Not my first Triple Belgian...but this one was a different experience. Very sweet on the first 3rd. 2nd third very tart/tarry almost to the point wherein I thought of not finishing. but staying with it the sweetness returned. This foray, however completely missed the mark with its Belgian White pairing.
